Our mission, as a Driver Education department, is to educate your student to be a safe, mindful, skillful, and respectful driver and passenger.
Your student will be taking the permit test the first week of class.
IN ORDER TO ENSURE THAT YOU CHILD RECEIVES THEIR PERMIT PLEASE REMEMBER THE FOLLOWING:
Eye exam- Please make sure that students who need glasses or contacts to drive bring those at that time. If a student can not pass the eye exam, we will need them to take a sheet to their eye doctor for verification which can delay the processing of their permit.
Permit Test- Need to complete and pass. If a student fails the permit test they will get the maximum of 3 tries before having to go to the DMV to obtain it on their own.
Permit Application- After a student completes the eye exam and permit test, applications will be printed out by the teacher for the student to take to the parent for both to sign and pay the $20 fee to the secretary of state. (checks are made out to the Secretary of State). Cash and checks only.
After we have the signed permit and payment ($20 cash or check made out to the Secretary of State) an instructor from the school will get the permit processed by the DMV. After we receive the permits back, your students' teacher will pass them back to students who passed the exam.

The driving portion, or BTW, will be done once a week during the student's Drivers Education Course time. Each student is required to receive 6 hours of behind the wheel instruction and 6 hours of behind the wheel observation with one of our certified Drivers Ed teachers in order to be eligible for their drivers license. A student will need to pass the required behind the wheel lessons in order to pass the behind the wheel portion of Drivers Ed.
We are beyond excited to have your student in class this semester and are dedicated to their education and well-being. If you have any questions please reach out to your student’s individual teacher.
